The Channel Plus smart TV app on LG TVs showed short-form digital content in over 160 linear and on-demand channels. These ‘legacy’ TVs had traditional remote controls, instead of the ‘Magic Remote Control’, which moves a pointer over the TV screen.
Given the different remote control, a new strategy was required for users to navigate the app, whilst retaining the look of the LG Channel Plus brand. Provision for advertising was necessary for revenue.
Channels displayed on this platform used the same assets as Xumo TV, streamlining the work necessary for launch.
